Lakeside Redux

An existing lakefront family home, originally built in the 1970s, has been reimagined as an updated classic by the current generation of the family to serve future generations while maintaining its legacy as a cherished vacation home. Originally conceived with Victorian-style intentions, the family sought to clarify and enhance the Victorian farmhouse language while adding needed space through thoughtful additions and alterations.

The project reworked the existing floorplans and added bedrooms and bathrooms to accommodate the needs of current and future family members. To address limited headroom and floor area on the third floor, the roof was raised, creating expanded upper-level living space. A new front farmers porch, larger rear deck, and a rear third-floor rooftop widow’s walk balcony were added to enhance the home’s lakefront living experience, integrating outdoor enjoyment with
